Here is what our volunteers said about the training:

  • I found it really helpful, it reminded me of some very important topics I learned during my level 3 early years course, 2 years ago which I must remember constantly when working with children.
  • Excellent and important message, this should be given to every parent at the stage of delivery in the hospital
  • There was a lot to learn from today’s lesson, although I knew all the simple things in Five to Thrive, I realised how important these key simple steps were

All workshops run for approximately three hours and are held at our Newham venue Early Start Nursery & Training Centre. Sessions are delivered on a monthly basis, allowing volunteers to choose a session to fit in with their availability.

Volunteers will have a mentor assigned to them throughout their placement opportunity. All mentors have attended our Mentor Training, ensuring they’re able to effectively support volunteers throughout their placement.
