Meet The Team

Meet our team of Registered Nutritionist who are on a mission to improve the health and well being of young children and their families

Edwina Revel (BSc, MSc, RNutr)

Programme Director

Hi, I am Edwina Revel (RNutr) the Programme Director for Nutrition here at Early Start. I have worked in the early years for over 15 years promoting evidence based and reliable information for children and families. Our team have developed a range of online training to ensure information is easily accessible, covering topics such as the introduction of solid foods, supporting fussy eaters and how to learn about food through cooking. Good nutrition is key to the growth and development of children, particularly in their early years and we want to ensure all children have the best start in life.

I have shared my expertise with some of the top early years magazines including Early Years Educator and Complete Nutrition. I write regular blogs on topical issues, translating often complex nutrition information into simple public health messages. I have shared my expertise and best practice at national and international conferences such as VitaFoods Europe and Food Matters Live.

I ensure wellbeing is a key priority for my colleagues and as a team we love to organise activities such as sports days and cooking challenges harnessing practitioners passion for good food, cooking and nutrition.

“It was so useful to have Edwina attend our team meeting.

She was clear and informative and was able to tailor the training session according to our needs.

The hand-outs are great for us to give to the parents who we work with.

Thanks, Edwina.”

Georgia Leech (BSc, RNutr)

Senior Nutritionist

Hi, I’m Georgia Leech the Senior Nutritionist here at Early Start Nutrition. I’ve worked here at Early Start for around 4 years and really enjoy delivering training and support to early years practitioners around nutrition. It’s always fantastic to visit settings and see first hand how they implement best nutrition practice!

I enjoy all elements of my role as a nutritionist, but especially love creating fun child-friendly recipes to share on our social media, along with recipe videos for our Eat in With Early Start series on Youtube.

I’ve written a number of articles for magazines and regularly write blogs, so if you haven’t already- check them out here. I look forward to working with you!

What Clients Say About Us Here at Early Start Nutrition

Helen Clark

Lead Author for The All Party Parliamentary Group on a Fit and Healthy Childhood

"If child health and fitness is to become a reality for all children, regardless of their family situation, geographical location or economic circumstances, parents, carers and health and education professionals require support and encouragement. The pilots, schemes, written information and overall example set by Georgia and Edwina goes some estimable way to achieving this ideal. I applaud their work and am extremely grateful for their interest in, and contribution to, the work of our APPG".

Faye Telford- Penfound

Over the past few years, the Team has been regularly supplying evidence-based, practical articles to CN Magazines. All their articles are informative, educational, well written and comprehensive. We very much value the Early Start Wellbeing and Nutrition Team’s contributions to CN Magazines and thank them for sharing not only their remarkable knowledge surrounding nutrition, but best-practice too – long may this continue."

Matt Govett

"The expert team at Early Start has delivered numerous  live cookery demonstrations at our shows and most recently  at the Nursery World Show in London. Their presentations  were lively, informative and engaging and always provided  inspiring, practical advice and guidance for visitors. With all  the challenges faced by nurseries to provide healthy meal  options and to encourage all children to eat better, Early  Start’s approach is exactly what the sector needs to support  best practice and educate nursery providers about effective  approaches."
