Sue Brown, Senior Practitioner Learning & Development
NNEB Diploma, NPQICL, Triple P Stepping Stones, Signalong Tutor, Baby Massage & Yoga Tutor
Sue has worked in Newham Children Centre's for the last 13 years, she has a wealth of experience, in supporting vulnerable families, within a multi-disciplinary team. Sue has successfully managed a Children’s Centre for seven years; co-ordinating high quality services across the community for children and families. Sue’s has developed and co-ordinated play and parenting services, providing stimulating environments for children and families, particularly those with special and sensory needs.
Sue has delivered a range of training packages to families, volunteers and peers. She is a qualified Baby Massage instructor and has taught parents baby massage techniques throughout her career and is passionate about the benefits of massage; particularly the positive impact it has on the brain development of young children.
Pippa Alabaster, Programme Director
Level 3 qualified Business Management & Award in Education & Training, IOSH, Prince 2 Practitioner, Certified First Aid Instructor
Pippa started her career working in adult education in Waltham Forest before moving over to Newham Children’s Services in 2000. She has 24 years experience of working in East London, as a frontline practitioner and services manager, over which time she has developed a breadth of knowledge and experience across family support, parenting, community health and Children's Centre leadership.
Pippa regards her main area of expertise as project commissioning and contract management. She has successfully implemented several major projects including the commissioning and contract management of health service contracts to the value of £3 million per annum. Pippa is passionate about health equality, early intervention, and forming strong partnerships to deliver services that achieve real and significant outcomes for children and families. Within Early Start, Pippa leads on the delivery of our commissioned peripatetic play and communication service, our volunteer scheme and learning service. To enhance this role, she has recently completed a Level three Award in Education & Training along with becoming a Certified First Aid Instructor and is now looking to develop our Volunteer Scheme as an accredited programme of learning.
Helen Warburton, HW Training & Consultancy
Helen is an independent trainer and consultant with 40 years’ experience of working in the field of Early Years. Roles include management and delivery of services for Children with Disabilities and the development and delivery of Children Centre services. Currently Helen is currently working in producing packages of play delivery, quality assurance and the inclusion of Five to Thrive.
She is committed to the implementation of quality play experiences for all young children and the role of parents in supporting their children’s learning is a particular focus.
