About the Job

Early Start Family Contact Centre are looking to for a Weekend Co-ordinater to maintain the smooth running of a busy Family Contact Centre providing supervised and supported contacts in the centre and the community.

The Weekend Co-ordinator facilitates a wrap around service on Fridays and Mondays and manages the centre at the weekends; reporting to the senior co-ordinator. The post holder will be expected to work 28 hours over a four day week.

This role who suit someone who is looking for a regular work pattern in a dynamic working environment. The role entails providing direction, support, advice and guidance to supervisors, foster carers, parents and children who use the contact centre services.

We are looking for an individuals with good administration and strong organisational skills who has some experience of working with children and families in a similar role or other similar setting. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to manage staff and complex families circumstances and to problem-solve issues that may arise over the weekend. Personal skills required for post are an ability to work sensitively with some complex family cases; maintaining confidentiality and providing a superior customer focused service.

Senior Early Education Practitioner

£18,000

We are looking for an experienced Room Leaders or Practitioners who are ready to step up to assist the setting Manager to lead; ensuring the provision of high quality care and education for a dedicated room and group of children within the setting. You should have experience of working with children with additional needs and have the ability to lead and enable a small team of practitioners.

Experience & Skills Required

  • CACHE / NNEB/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Experience as a room leader or practitioner
  • Recent experience of working with children aged 0 to 5 years
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Excellent staff management skills and/or ability and willingness to undertake training
  • Knowledge and ability to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage including Safeguarding and Health & Safety requirements

Apprentice Early Education Practitioner

£5.00 per hour

We are looking for individuals who have the aptitude to work with children, aged 3-6 months to 4 years, within a nursery setting and who are willing to undertake a training course to qualify as an early education practitioner.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Some experience of working with children and families in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • An understanding of what can be involved in safeguarding children in a nursery setting and of what should be involved in providing a positive learning environment and promoting child development
  • A willingness to undertake training and learn new skills on the job
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Willingness and ability to complete training in level 2/3 in childcare/education

Contact Supervisor @ Early Start’s Family Contact Centre in E7

From £10.53 p/h Plus additional holiday allowance

We are looking to recruit contact supervisions to our bank of staff who are looking for flexible working arrangements and hours. The centre is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 to 6pm, and we are looking for staff cover a range of sessions within these times paid on an hourly basis.

The role of a Family/Children’s Contact Centre Supervisor is to observe contact between children and their parents / carers or other family members, some of whom may be in court proceeding or are in the care of the local authority. The role is to ensure that the contact meeting is a safe and positive space for the child to interaction with their parent/carers/family.

The majority of the contacts take place at our contact centre in Forest Gate. Some take place in the community or in family homes. All contacts are risk assessed and staff receive training and support from the on-site co-ordinators/centre manager. This role is ideal for someone who has skills and experience gained from working with children and families and is looking for flexible work to fit around other commitments.

Experience & Skills Required

  • An NVQ level 2/3 in education or social care and or willing to complete in-house training
  • Experience of working with children, young people and families
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child development and or willingness to undertake training and develop these skills
  • IT literate
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
