Cooking and Learning About Food

Book our Cooking and Learning Training to explore:

  • The importance of learning about food through educational programmes
  • Ways to communicate healthy eating messages to children through food based activities
  • How to plan, prepare and set up a room/kitchen for the delivery of a safe and fun children’s food based activity
  • How to ensure cooking recipes are healthy, balanced and nutritious in line with Eat Better Start Better Food and Drink Guidelines
  • Ensure a whole family approach, how to involve and encourage parents to continue food activities in the home
  • Learn about  food through cooking and food play in line with EYFS 1.5 and 1.9
  • How to evaluate your cooking session to monitor if expected  children’s learning and development outcomes are met

Learning Content

The training comprises of information slides and activities which you will work through with our registered nutritionists. 

Assessment

There will be a short assessment at the end of the training with a pass rate of 80%. On completion of the training you will be able to access a Knowledge Development Plan (KDP) where you can reflect on your learning and map how you will use the information in your practice. Once you have completed the course you will be able to review the material and download the resources at any time. 

Certification

Certificate issued on successful completion of the course and the Knowledge Development Plan (KDP).
